I haven’t seen it in person yet but Seattle’s best free weekly, the Stranger put threw my horse and kitty picture on the Cover! The same picture also made the cover of the January/February issue of Adbusters. Although it’s only 2 inches in size, it is proudly displayed next to a portrait of the soon to be late George W. Bush.

A big stack of magazines were in my mailbox upon arrival back in Portland. China’s Photographer’s Companion Magazine August, Monster Children issue #16 (australia) with a nice cover by Mike Giant and RE:UP the photography issue all had interviews and/or photo spreads of my fishin pictures. I’m especially honored to have my photos in the same mag with Glen E. Friedman… who is a long time hero.

This was my second inclusion in juxtapoz this year. Man, I feel lucky. What a great cover by Shepard Farey.

Man, its been awhile. King crab season was calm and lovely for the most part but the crab were skiddish and it took twice as long to catch our quota. Two weeks instead of one? I’ve got nothing to complain about. Lots of news! But I’ll save it for the next post.

I’m leaving tomorrow for Seattle to meet the Rollo and embark on the long journey North in search of the dreaded Red King Crab. Even more exciting news then that is I now have exclusive gallery representation in New York! Sara Tecchia Roma New York Stop in and say hello.

Cover Photo and cover story written by the good folks here at coreyfishes.com for the October issue of National Fisherman!
Just got back from San Francisco where I was on a top secret assignment for New York Magazine. Well maybe not ‘top’ secret but it was a good fun one. Last week I was in the Yukon Territory taking pictures of risky outdoor behavior for En Route, a nice Canadian Travel Mag. Whitehorse, check it out on the map, then go there… it’s a wonderful place.

Lots of stuff is happenin’ right now. I have an 8 page photo spread in this months issue of RE:UP magazine as well as a very flattering review of my May solo exhibition at Richard Heller Gallery in Artweek Magazine. Thanks! I’m also featured in the August issue of Juxtapoz Magazine on the third to last page. Oh, yes and one on the cover of the September issue of Fisherman’s News. Oh, and just got a copy of China’s amazingly huge and surprisingly lovely Vision Magazine. The July issue featured a few pages of my fishin’ pictures.

Giant Robot Magazine issue 43 is out now. Check out the beautiful cover art by my Arctic accomplice Rachell Sumpter… yeah, that’s me with the fish! An interview with Rachell about our trip accompanied with my photos can be spotted inside.

Humble Arts Foundation has a beautiful online gallery that is featuring my Arcticness series for this months solo-show which includes an interview. They are also selling small limited edition prints for $375 each to help support the foundation.

Outside Magazine is featuring one of my photos on the last page in the August issue. Nice people over there. This month, there’s a really nice article about ski culture in Iran. Who knew? Oh, and I just discovered that the Norwegian whaling story I photographed for Outside last year is now online. My portraits accompany a well written article by Philip Armour.

Fecal Face is having another anniversary party. I’m excited to finally go to this one. I’ll have a couple pictures in it as well. Say hello if you see me there!

I just received some copies of “Backyard Shakedown”. It’s a new photography book featuring 20 up and comers into the photo world. There is some nice work in there by some great ghetto documentary photographers. I’ve got a two pager in there too. It’s put out by Upper Playground and looks like this.

Suzanne Shade from the Beholder is hosting another exhibition of Beholder photographers this time in San Francisco. I’ll have a couple photos up on the wall. The Gallery is Parklife. 220 Clement St.

FHM (UK) just published a two page interview with me about life as a crab fisherman. Man, what a trashy magazine. In other news I’ll be heading back to Alaska (Ketchikan) next week on assignment with the German Fashion Magazine Neon. Also look out for upcoming articles/photos in Artweek, Juxtapoz, Monster children (AU), RE:UP, and several Chinese publications. Oh, and check out this great photographer’s work: Amy Stein. I haven’t seen anything this great in awhile.

Nice things are happening, but time should please stand still so I can spend a month landscaping my home! Pics from The Richard Heller Gallery show should be on their way soon. I’m in a group show in NYC right now at Sara Tecchia Roma New York. Stop in and say hello if you have a minute.
I just did a little how to blog thing on how to find a fishing job in Alaska for my favorite website Fecalface dot com. Tonight I leave for the Inuit village of Shishmaref in Alaska. I’ll be out of touch for a week while searching for Polar Bears via dogsled and meeting some local whaling folk. See you next week!

Show is this Saturday. Hope to see you there! Here is the Press Release and map.

Greetings. Preparation for the L.A. show at Richard Heller Gallery is in full swing. You can click HERE for the Press release. Below is the invite for the Beholder group show the following weekend. In other news my cat is at the vet getting a histerectomy.
I’ve been nominated for the Aperture West Book Prize. Hot Dog! Also, this month you will find a great critical story about “Deadliest Catch” in the April issue of Mens Journal. My photo of Chris getting pummeled by a wave can be found on the contents page. In gallery show news, I’ll have a few photos in the Beholder-art show on May 19th at the Tinlark Gallery in Los Angeles.

Bob Kronbauer of Crown Farmer and Little Giants has started his own online magazine called Mumble. He did a little feature interview with me for the 1st issue. Looks like the mag is worthy of a bookmark. Also below is the invite for the incredible NYC line-up at Higher Pictures opening Saturday.
